Silk Castellas-Cartwright published her ceramics course on TikTok, which attracted the attention of nearly 500,000 people.

After her vacation plan was stopped due to Covid-19 restrictions, a young Australian discovered pottery and fell in love with it, attracting the attention of nearly half a million people on TikTok. At the age of 21, she sold her works online while working at her company By Silk. She called herself a part-time potter. She told the Daily Mail, "The items I make are current and exciting, can be used effectively, and can also be used as a work of art."

“After completing my art degree, I wanted to travel for a year, but I found myself having a lot of free time to get in and out of the lockdown,” she explained. "I bought some clay and started making it by hand, and then participated in several rounds of tossing activities at a local pottery shop."
